You Are a Star Bachelorette Party

I believe in having a theme for every and any type of party. For this bachelorette party, I chose stars! It’s simple, but keeps everything cohesive. Stars, silver/gold, pink + purple = success.

GUEST WEARABLES TABLE
I set up a table with everything that a bachelorette party guest needs to survive. I love doing this because it acts as a set of decorations before everyone picks up their stuff. I found star disco cups (no longer available, but similar disco ball ones are here). I cut out gold stars, wrote out each person’s name and taped them the cups.

Beer Tasting Party

Pretty much every season we do a beer tasting party with our friends. It’s a fun drinking activity that feels like you’re doing something more sophisticated than just chugging beers.

PICK A THEME. The most important part! Since we do them seasonally – that’s usually the theme for us. So summer beers – the quintessential summer flavors or labels. In Michigan, that would Oberon type stuff. My favorite is fall – we do pumpkin beers and carve pumpkins. We also do a Christmas beer tasting – this one is fun because there are a lot of holiday related beers with cool labels. You could do other themes like Michigan (or local) beers or the type of beer (IPAs, stouts, etc.)

Spooky 30th Birthday Party

I love everything spooky and wanted to incorporate that into my big 30th birthday party! I kicked off the party with a girls only candle making session! I hired a local occult specialist, Pentacle Path, to come over and teach us how to make our own magic candles. It was honestly a perfect way toContinue reading “Spooky 30th Birthday Party”

Beer Olympics Party

Every year we host a beer olympics party! Here’s how we do it. Figure out teams. Send out an invite and see how many people you can get to commit. This is a hard party to throw because you need 100% commitment and people never want to give that to you. Depending on how manyContinue reading “Beer Olympics Party”

X Files Birthday Party

I planned an X-Files themed birthday for a friend and it was super fun! We rented out the upstairs of the Berklely Common (in Berkley duh). They provided appetizers and drinks.

So then it was all about the decorations! We wanted to keep it simple so there wasn’t a ton of stuff to bring into the restaurant. And we had to clean it all up before we left for the night.

How to Host a Murder Mystery Party

I planned a murder mystery for my husband’s 30th birthday and it was fun, but hard to execute. Here are some tips that I learned through research and trial/error. Send out an invite. You need a very specific amount of people for this party. You can either choose a game (see below) and invite onlyContinue reading “How to Host a Murder Mystery Party”

1960’s New Year’s Eve Party

I planned a 1960’s themed party this year for New Year’s Eve! It was fun to find some actual vintage items and re-create the vibes with other normal New Year’s stuff. Everyone dressed up in the era’s clothes and brought a 60’s inspired appetizer! I set up two tables and a counter. One table hadContinue reading “1960’s New Year’s Eve Party”
