The summer solstice is the perfect time for an astrology themed dinner party! I invited all my girlfriends and asked them to bring a new friend along so we could all meet new people. Of course it ended up raining that night, so I got two 10×10 pop up tents with beige tops. I hungContinue reading “Astrology Mixer”

Astrology Cocktail Birthday Party
This is a birthday party for the astrology lover! We had six guests – everyone chose a cocktail from the Mixology of Astrology recipe book, brought ingredients and glasses, and then presented to the group. Of course we did a taste testing after each one. DECORI tried to keep it simple and choose a blueContinue reading “Astrology Cocktail Birthday Party”
Red Hot Galentine’s Day Party
Another year, another Galentine’s celebration! This year, my theme was “red hot hotties” showcasing some of our celebrity crushes and spicy candy. I tried to keep the colors bright red and pink. A contrast to my pastel theme last year. TABLE TOPI got glitter paper from Michael’s and cut out a bunch of hearts. IContinue reading “Red Hot Galentine’s Day Party”
Halloween Wedding Dinner Party
I got to plan a dream party combining my two favorite things – weddings and Halloween. This couple opted for a smaller home version of their wedding because of COVID. I set up a little dinner party in their living room. I wanted the overall vibe to be “elegant spooky” – I used the colorContinue reading “Halloween Wedding Dinner Party”
Couple/Sister Halloween Costume Ideas
Here are all the costumes my sister and I have done together.
FRANKENSTEIN + BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN*
-Hair: Slick back your hair into a low bun. Use a toothbrush with hair spray to get down all the flyaways.
-Makeup: We used this green face paint, but it peeled a little bit too much. I would get the same kind as the white pain below instead. Do thick black eyeliner, eyeliner stitches and black lipstick.
-Outfit: We just got a black blazer from Salvation Army. Then wear a black t-shirt, black jeans and chunky black boots. So easy!
5 Summer Days in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula
We wanted to go on a COVID safe vacation and there’s no where more social distanced than the Upper Peninsula. We’ve been a few times and wanted to do something new so we went all the way to the peak – Copper Harbor. I love being in the UP because it’s so calm with waterContinue reading “5 Summer Days in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula”
Ice Cream Party
Summer calls for ice cream and ice cream calls for a party! Below is how I planned a full on ice cream themed bash for friends. (My ice cream obsession includes two cone tattoos and lots of ice cream themed home decor.)
Obviously, the most important thing at this party. I set up a station where people could make their own sundaes! I asked each guest to bring their favorite topping. I got a bunch of basic ice cream types (chocolate base, vanilla base, mint base, etc.) and the put all the toppings out in cute bowls. Make sure you have a good mix of hard toppings (sprinkles, oreos, candy) and liquid (hot fudge, chocolate syrup, caramel).
You Are a Star Bachelorette Party
I believe in having a theme for every and any type of party. For this bachelorette party, I chose stars! It’s simple, but keeps everything cohesive. Stars, silver/gold, pink + purple = success.
GUEST WEARABLES TABLE
I set up a table with everything that a bachelorette party guest needs to survive. I love doing this because it acts as a set of decorations before everyone picks up their stuff. I found star disco cups (no longer available, but similar disco ball ones are here). I cut out gold stars, wrote out each person’s name and taped them the cups.
Quarantine Birthday Party with Personalized Jeopardy
We celebrated my husband’s birthday in quarantine last weekend and here’s what I planned. It was hard to do surprises since he’s always home and it was difficult to find supplies, buttt I think it turned out okay.
VIDEO CALL PARTY!
I wanted to have planned activities during the call since those can get out of hand with nothing to do. First I had to settle on a platform – I wanted one where it was easy to share your screen since I had a lot to show. We ended up choosing Go To Meeting (you need a subscription).
