I got to plan a dream party combining my two favorite things – weddings and Halloween. This couple opted for a smaller home version of their wedding because of COVID. I set up a little dinner party in their living room. I wanted the overall vibe to be “elegant spooky” – I used the colorContinue reading “Halloween Wedding Dinner Party”
Here are all the costumes my sister and I have done together.
FRANKENSTEIN + BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN*
-Hair: Slick back your hair into a low bun. Use a toothbrush with hair spray to get down all the flyaways.
-Makeup: We used this green face paint, but it peeled a little bit too much. I would get the same kind as the white pain below instead. Do thick black eyeliner, eyeliner stitches and black lipstick.
-Outfit: We just got a black blazer from Salvation Army. Then wear a black t-shirt, black jeans and chunky black boots. So easy!
We wanted to go on a COVID safe vacation and there’s no where more social distanced than the Upper Peninsula. We’ve been a few times and wanted to do something new so we went all the way to the peak – Copper Harbor. I love being in the UP because it’s so calm with waterContinue reading “5 Summer Days in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula”
Summer calls for ice cream and ice cream calls for a party! Below is how I planned a full on ice cream themed bash for friends. (My ice cream obsession includes two cone tattoos and lots of ice cream themed home decor.)
Obviously, the most important thing at this party. I set up a station where people could make their own sundaes! I asked each guest to bring their favorite topping. I got a bunch of basic ice cream types (chocolate base, vanilla base, mint base, etc.) and the put all the toppings out in cute bowls. Make sure you have a good mix of hard toppings (sprinkles, oreos, candy) and liquid (hot fudge, chocolate syrup, caramel).
I believe in having a theme for every and any type of party. For this bachelorette party, I chose stars! It’s simple, but keeps everything cohesive. Stars, silver/gold, pink + purple = success.
GUEST WEARABLES TABLE
I set up a table with everything that a bachelorette party guest needs to survive. I love doing this because it acts as a set of decorations before everyone picks up their stuff. I found star disco cups (no longer available, but similar disco ball ones are here). I cut out gold stars, wrote out each person’s name and taped them the cups.
We celebrated my husband’s birthday in quarantine last weekend and here’s what I planned. It was hard to do surprises since he’s always home and it was difficult to find supplies, buttt I think it turned out okay.
VIDEO CALL PARTY!
I wanted to have planned activities during the call since those can get out of hand with nothing to do. First I had to settle on a platform – I wanted one where it was easy to share your screen since I had a lot to show. We ended up choosing Go To Meeting (you need a subscription).
Ann Arbor is home to Michigan University, lots of artsy places and tons of restaurants/breweries – there are a million+ ways to make a day or weekend trip here! My sister and I went for a concert and focused our day on only the best – drinking and shopping! Here was our plan – everythingContinue reading “Sisters Shopping + Drinking Day Trip to Ann Arbor, Michigan”
Below is the itinerary for our time in Florida. We needed a break from the March cold! Our days were kind of all over the place, so this is how I wish we organized our time. We went over International Women’s Day weekend so I tried to pick a few women owned businesses as well.
This year I went with a pastel succulent theme with a centerpiece down the table. We did a France vs. USA wine tasting. Here’s how to do it!
Pretty much every season we do a beer tasting party with our friends. It’s a fun drinking activity that feels like you’re doing something more sophisticated than just chugging beers.
PICK A THEME. The most important part! Since we do them seasonally – that’s usually the theme for us. So summer beers – the quintessential summer flavors or labels. In Michigan, that would Oberon type stuff. My favorite is fall – we do pumpkin beers and carve pumpkins. We also do a Christmas beer tasting – this one is fun because there are a lot of holiday related beers with cool labels. You could do other themes like Michigan (or local) beers or the type of beer (IPAs, stouts, etc.)
